I purchased this crate for my large (13lbs) Pomeranian. It's very sturdy and attractive, and fits well in our living room, where it does double duty as a table for coffee, remotes, etc.Setup is a breeze; it simply unfolds on its hinges and you drop the floor and top into place. The door hardware is high quality and secure. It has a satisfying snap when seated. You can lift the top to access your pet. We probably won't have occasion to, but if you have a young puppy or an older dog it could come in handy. The back wall has some slightly larger gaps besides the regular bars at the top and bottom (About 2 3/4"x7"). I like them because I can reach in and interact with my dog. However, if you have a much smaller dog or a puppy you might want to consider covering the bottom ones if they're also an escape artist. It really depends on the size of your dog. If you place the crate flush against the wall this would block them easily. The floor perfectly fits a 20×30 memory foam bath mat. I sewed velcro onto ours because my dog likes to dig at his beds. There are only 2 improvements I can think of, and they're really "nice-to-haves".One, if the door opened flat back against the front wall (to the left) instead of out extending into the space next to the crate (to the right). This would conserve space, and allow for maybe a clip or something to secure the door open flat against the wall. During times when my dog is not enclosed, the open door can get in the way, and it freely swings back and forth unless I secure it with a velcro strip. I want to leave it open though so he can hang out in the crate when he wants to.The second improvement would be locking casters that you could pop into the tube legs. The crate is pretty heavy, and it would help to be able to roll it between locations. For example, from the living room to my office when I'm working and want to supervise my dog.Aside from those suggestions, this is a great crate and well worth the money spent.
